The Beauty of Japan Captured on Video

If you are a regular reader, I probably don’t have to tell you that Japan is a beautiful and interesting country.

I try my best to show you this through my photos, but you’ve probably noticed the lack of videos. I admit that I neither have proper equipment nor the necessary skills or knowledge to present you great, self-made Japan videos. Although I’d love to.

Instead I thought I should share one of my favorite Japan videos with you.
The creators of this awesome video asked me if I would feature it on my blog, but I had already shared it on social media long before that. So, of course I would!

AmnesiaArt’s Awesome Japan Video

AmnesiArt is a film and Fine Art photography production composed by Nick Arcivos and Ryan Earl.
They mention that their first stay in Japan has allowed them to discover its rich culture, its fascinating architecture and friendly people.

And that’s exactly what you can see in the video. Their fascination comes through in breathtaking pictures so that even “little ol’ me” was impressed.

A tiny critique would be that they present an image of Japan that’s already in the head of most people anyways.
You all know that I always try hard to show you Japan beyond that.

However, the pictures, camera motion, music … the whole composition is so lovely! And to me it seems like I can experience Japan through the eyes of a first-time visitor which makes it special.

Did you recognize any sightseeing spots?

Ok, it’s actually fairly easy as the video features the typical tourist attractions such as Tokyo (e.g. Tokyo Tower, Sky Tree, Roppongi), Kyoto (Kinkakuji, Kiyomizudera, Gion) and Nara (Todaiji). I purposely didn’t mention everything, so feel free to share other things you could spot in the comments below!

The creators say they had the urge to capture the special atmosphere of Japan and share it with the world.

They wanted to let people discover the wonders offered by the land of the rising sun – through its gastronomy, architecture and culture. Their intention was to show the harmony of coexistence between tradition and modernity. In my opinion they managed to do that. What do you think?

AmnesiArt had in mind to seduce not only fans of Japan, but also people who don’t know this wonderful destination yet.

I think that’s awesome as they got a lot of quality feedback already from all over the world. And I couldn’t be happier that more people got interested in Japan after watching this great Japan video! ^__^

 

My Favorite Scene in the Video:

Someone like me who has travelled to all 47 Japanese prefectures and explored over 100 Japanese castles can’t be impressed easily anymore.

Of course, the Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto looks stunning. Yes, Tokyo Tower and Sky Tree are great landmarks. But I’ve seen all of these things a million of times already.

So, my favorite scene in the video was actually the one you see in the photo above with the two cute cats on a cherry blossom tree. It’s no secret that I’m a cat lover and in spring I always try to get some cat x sakura shots.
